What It’s Like to Work at The ALEA Group -An Inside Perspective, by Emily Parr – Business Development Specialist

For those who have ever wondered what it is like to work at the ALEA Group, here’s your chance to find out. My name is Emily Parr. I’m nineteen years old and I’m a writer and an artist by hobby and I’ve been working at the ALEA Group for just three amazing months. With the honesty I’ve had all my life, I plan to share the insider perspective of what it’s really like to work here. To begin with, I’d like to say that working in a call centre environment can be tedious at times. As a marketing consultant making 100-200 plus phone calls per day, the tasks we do can sometimes feel very overwhelming. However, for those who love speaking to people, the excitement of getting in touch with different major companies and providing them with helpful solutions feels very rewarding. Though it’s not the work itself that makes ALEA stand out from any previous work experience I’ve had, it’s the energy of the people.

To work for a company who values their employees is everyone’s dream. To have opportunity for new positions and new responsibilities is also a common goal for most people. However, the idea of working for a company that actually has opportunities to grow as a person and develop character and skills is an idea that we often believe we won’t ever find. With ALEA I quickly learned that goal is possible. Within my very first day on the job I was welcomed by a team of positive, hardworking people that had the friendliest demeanour I had ever come across in the workforce. We immediately began the day with a motivational video and from that moment on my life was truly changed. Seeing a company take time to focus on what makes a strong employee and a strong person was something I never knew existed. It is these values in developing skills than can be used both within and outside of the office that makes ALEA stand out.

Previously, I came from the tough world of retail where I was used to being told my best just wasn’t good enough. It’s something no one should ever grow accustomed to for the sake of their own motivation and overall work performance. At ALEA the philosophy is to be the best you can be everyday and then work harder. This may sound daunting at first. However, there is communication between colleagues when it comes to feedback that feels collaborative and effective rather than breaking down someone’s self esteem to the point of giving up. In fact, at ALEA we are taught true grit, for example, handling rejection and moving on quickly without being phased. Personally, I have found this to be the most valuable skill on which we have focused thus far as a group, and I will be applying it to every aspect of my life.

There is endless opportunity to learn every day, no matter where you are or who you are within the world, and working at ALEA has emphasized that to me more than anything else. What began as my first office job has quickly turned into one of the most valuable life changing experiences I’ve had. With our strong team and belief in bettering ourselves every day, I truly believe the ALEA Group is a strong force to reckon with. We are going straight to the top and I’m proud to be a part of the journey.
